Transfer Credit Policy
Eligibility and Evaluation
Transfer students must meet WHU’s admission requirements and follow the designated procedures to be admitted. The Academic Department evaluates transfer credits by examining transcripts to determine equivalence in course content and instructional hours with WHU classes.
Credits are accepted for courses completed at institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Credits from non-accredited schools undergo evaluation by the Academic Department and may or may not be accepted. Courses with a grade of "D" or lower are not eligible for transfer credit. All transfer credit decisions are made at the discretion of the Academic Department.
Challenge Exam Option
Students may request a challenge exam if transfer credit is not granted and the course grade is above a "D." A score of 75% or higher on the exam may result in transfer credit being granted. An administrative fee equivalent to 50% of the course tuition is charged for each challenge exam. Exams are offered at the Seminary’s discretion.
Transfer Credit Evaluation Process
Transfer credits are evaluated upon receipt of:
Academic transcripts
Completed Transfer Credit Request Form
If questions arise about the equivalency of prior coursework, students may be required to provide additional information, such as course descriptions or syllabi. Evaluation criteria include the course’s nature, content, quality, level, and credit hours. Independent agencies may be consulted for further verification if necessary.
